Short, because the service is simple
Effective 2026-07-18. You upload an image, we score it in memory, you get a report with its limits stated. These terms cover the free trial — they'll grow when paid plans do.
1. What the service is
Vestige Forensics analyzes images you upload and returns a forensic report with a calibrated verdict on whether the image is AI-generated. A verdict is a calibrated statistical signal, not proof — of synthesis or of authenticity. Every report states its false-positive budget, detection rate, and limits; read them before acting on a verdict, and corroborate with provenance and context. Reports are not legal advice, and we are not an expert-witness service.
2. The free trial
The trial is currently the only tier: 10 image analyses per calendar month (UTC) per account, free. An analysis is counted when it is authorized — if an upload then fails, that analysis is still counted. Quotas, limits, and features may change as paid plans launch; we won’t reduce what you’ve already received. Paid plans, API access, and enterprise offerings are in development and not yet available.
3. Your account
One account per person, with a real email address you control. You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential. You can delete your account at any time from the account page; deletion is immediate and permanent.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t upload images you have no right to process, don’t use the service to harass or defame anyone, and don’t circumvent the trial quota (multiple accounts, automation against the web flow, resold access). We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service or degrade it for others — that’s the whole enforcement policy, and we’d rather never use it.
5. Privacy
Your images are scored in memory and never stored; your account data is the minimum the trial needs. The privacy commitments are part of these terms.
6. No warranty
The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Detection of AI-generated imagery is an adversarial, moving problem: generators released after our calibration run may not be represented, and scores on novel generators can be wrong. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the free trial is limited to zero — matching what you paid for it.
